Yang style Tai-Chi origins

A couple of weeks ago, I fielded a few questions about Yang style history during my Tai-Chi instructors' course in Irvine. Just now, goofing around on Wikipedia, I happened to find a great article.

Please keep in mind that history has different interpretations, depending on your personal perspective, so I don't necessarily agree with all of this, however, I do think it to be worth reading.

Thanks. It's also interesting to follow some of the links from the article. It would be easy to spend a great deal of time folloing the various threads of information.

It'd be interesting and very counterproductive... kind of like letting your eyes and your attention drift off into lala land while doing the form. Hint, hint.

I'll take the hint. As to following threads, that's a nice form of leisure activity, if not taken to extreme.

Thanks for posting, Sifu. It reminds me how awesome it is that we get to learn this art, amazing to read how it all began, and consider how it came to our little group at Clover Park. :)
